Congratulations to Todd Meadows of North Carolina for harvesting a beautiful 145” ten point buck on November 1, 2008. Todd was eagerly hunting in a stand referred to as “The Cabin Plot” when a beautiful ten point buck stepped into range. With a steady aim this buck fell to one of our newest members of 2008 deer season.

Congratulations to Hunter Kuhn of New Jersey. On the second and last evening of his two day youth gun hunt, Hunter shot a beautiful seven point in a stand we call “The Big Maple.” The experience he shared with his Father Bert is sure to hold a special place in both of their hearts for many years.
Congratulations and what can I say to one of my favorites, Charlie Baldi and his son Charlie Jr.? For the second consecutive youth season Charlie has missed an opportunity at a large mature whitetail. But what is most impressive is how this young fellow handles himself. He symbolizes the spirit of a young ethical hunter. And this is why. His shots were carefully chosen; he eagerly tracked his animal, and remained ever so positive all the while not recovering his deer. I have no doubt Charlie Jr. will carry on our whitetail tradition.
As his “Favorite Uncle” please let me tell you how very proud I am of my nine year old nephew, Caleb. On the opening day of our youth gun season Caleb shot his first deer, a healthy mature doe, while hunting with his Father Greg. Together they shared a lifelong memory in a ground blind referred to as “The Turnip Blind.”
Congratulations to a close friend and colleague, Jeremy Janney, commonly referred to as Dr. Buckmaster. This pharmacist with a Ph D from the Ohio State University continues to find time to harvest mature whitetails on Mound Hill. Jeremy is a dedicated whitetail enthusiast spending many hours on his private whitetail property studying and filming the patterns of his residential herd. The photo to the left represents his 2008 harvest, a deer Jeremy filmed many times underneath an apple tree during the summer of 2008.
Congratulations to Bernie Davis! Bernie had the opportunity to harvest a beautiful Mound Hill Buck on Oct 31, 2008. As you’ll see from his picture, Bernie was beaming with pride after harvesting this impressive 138” eight point. Having been hunting Mound Hill for more than five years, Bernie routinely harvests mature whitetail deer. His understanding of whitetail management is a pleasant addition to our area.
