The Mound Hill Team
Bringing you the best in Ohio deer hunting
Please take a moment to observe the background information on "Our Team.” We are the charter individuals committed to providing our club with exceptional opportunities while hunting trophy whitetail deer in Southeastern Ohio.
Jason Snider
Having been comfortably raised in McArthur, Ohio, at the age of 18 I decided to leave home and attend college at the United States Naval Academy. While at the Naval Academy, a very special honor was bestowed upon me by my fellow teammates: selection as the Defensive Captain of the 1998 Navy Football Team. After completion of four years of rigorous academic study and leadership training I graduated with the class of 1999 earning a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Immediately following graduation, I spent six years as a naval officer aboard two surface vessels, one of which was the Navy’s newest nuclear powered aircraft carrier. In my final tour, I served as Officer of the Deck aboard the USS HARRY S TRUMAN (CVN 75) during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Currently, I am the Director of Football Operations at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Why do I share this with you? The leadership skills gained through my personal experiences at the Naval Academy, in the Navy, and working inside major college athletics are carried over to my hunt club. I actively recruit dedicated hunters passionate about the pursuit of mature trophy whitetail deer. Selecting the right individuals for this hunt club is very important to me and its members.
SE Ohio Whitetail
John and Jason Snider
“The Hunt Club’s Origin”
During my travels from Ohio, I had a great plan to build and develop a first class hunt club geared towards hunting trophy SE Ohio whitetail deer. So in 2002, the plan was put into action with the purchase of my first hunting property strategically located next to adjoining family property. Now I own over 1200 acres of property that I personally manage with the help of my father John Snider, brother-in-law Greg Montgomery, and The Mound Hill Hunt Club.
As a hunt club, we are constantly acquisitioning more land, developing better food plots, and actively engaged in the management of trophy whitetail deer. We harbor a relaxed atmosphere that allows our members to pursue whitetail deer at their discretion throughout the various seasons offered by the state of Ohio.
Please enjoy hunting SE Ohio whitetail at Mound Hill. We are fully committed to making your experience on our farm a special memory to last year after year.
Randy Snider
Randy is instrumental in the success of Mound Hill Whitetails. As we all know, managing trophy whitetail property is an intense time consuming chore. And to do it right takes hard work and passion. Thankfully, Randy is that person. Randy is directly in charge of the daily operations of Mound Hill Whitetails. In this role, he continously monitors the day to day progress of all Mound Hill property. By doing so, when the Fall arrives he is the logical choice to serve as the Hunt Manager for clients choosing a guided hunted with Mound Hill. Randy’s work ethic and personality make him an ideal fit for our team. While hunting with Mound Hill, you will see Randy’s creativity telling the finest jokes is quite an art!
Greg Montgomery
Greg is a talented partner with a vision for building and ground development. With over 20 years of construction management experience Greg has been instrumental in all building construction, food plot implementation, and machinery maintenance for Mound Hill Farms. As a hunter, Greg is extremely passionate about Ohio deer hunting, the management of our deer herd, and continuing development of better food plots. One of Greg’s fondest memories was guiding his 8-year-old son Caleb to the harvest of a quality 8 pt buck. Greg's strong family values and extensive knowledge makes him a vital part of Mound Hill.
John Fields
John is an experienced whitetail hunter with an array of knowledge in the outdoor industry. With a Bachelor of Science in Fish and Wildlife John, has applied his educational background with field application. His work with Mound Hill is extremely important in the development of our food plot program. John routinely inspects our plots, conducts soil testing, and prospects future site developments. Mound Hill is pleased to have the opportunity to work with John. He has become a close friend and continues to bring fresh ideas to our hunt club.
Jeremy Janney
Jeremy is a very close friend of the Mound Hill Hunt Club. As a local landowner with over 300 acres of adjoining whitetail property, Jeremy understands the importance of quality deer management and proper deer harvesting. Although Jeremy owns, hunts, and manages his own adjoining property, you’ll likely see him around our camp during the hunting season sharing his passion for local whitetail. As trophy hunters know, having neighbors with similar goals can result in more mature deer.
Nolan Yates
Nolan is a close personal friend, and a big part of the Mound Hill team. He has successfully hunted Vinton County for many years harvesting some fine whitetails. As an educator in the local school district, Nolan spends time in the outdoors during the hunting season with his three sons. Although Nolan has a private family farm north of Mound Hill, he occasionally hunts with our club and consistently keeps Mound Hill’s best interest in mind.
Together, allow us to personally invite you to the Mound Hill Hunt Club. There is truly something special in sharing memories as a team.
